Today we learned the very sad news that our brother Paul J. Hurley passed from this life on May 23, 2014. There were many complications to his passing which I choose not to elabote on at this time. My brother loved his family very deeply and for this we respect his decision.

OCTOBER 13, 2014
It is a gloomy day although I thank God for every opportunity to do His will. Today was a good day because I had a chance to go to the library and I was able to read todays papers, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and several magazines. Then Rena and I went to Corkys and picked up lunch which was very tasty. I had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and it filled both of us up. We then sat together and talked about local topics of interest. She left our home at two o'clock.
It rained really hard. Mia spent some time working on an art project which she will present to Rose's class on Wednesday. Rose was alarmed by the storm woke her up and frightened her a good bit. There is no mail today because of the Columbus Day Holiday.

Today is a great day because the weather is delightfully cool with no humidity.
I feel very good about the therapy today because it all worked out so beautifully. I walked in the hallway and performed well. Also I am ending a period of time of being dependent.
We learned today that my brother Paul is facing some possible health challenges which apparently are self inflicted. We are shocked that Paul has taken this course of action. He has decided not to eat. I pray that he will decide against this course of action and is indeed dire. He has a lot to live for and family and friends who depend on him. He is a great person. This direction he has chosen to take is not
like him. I hope and pray that he will change his mind. It is hard for me to believe.
I remember him saying several years ago that he would not be around in a few years and I could not figure it out. Why is he contemplating this? Less than a month ago I spoke with him and he seemed fine and everything was OK that is why I am so shocked. Maryann is going to Palm Springs to visit him in the hospital. If anyone can change his mind it would be her.

Home from Hospital May 18, 2014
We left hospital shortly before lunch. On a outing that was approximately half day to spend at home. It is very exciting to be home again. I am in the hospital because of a stroke I had on May third. It is good to see home much support and confidence has been placed on me.
My favorite therapist is Lauren who is teaching me how walk again using the wheel chair and walker. This stroke caused me to be off balance.

Hello Girls,
Four Generations. I found this old photo of four very extraordinary mothers taken in St. Louis 12/71. Mimi, Nanni, holding baby Mia and Mama Dia. Mia was the first grandchild and great grandchild in our family. Now with the birth Lilly Rose and Anna Kate we celebrate another generation
of young ladies into our family. I can hardly wait for Mama Dia to meet her two great grand daughters.
Love,
Dad

MAY 24, 2012
I am sending photos of me on my birthday that I thought you might like to see. Also, a fresh blueberry pie was baked by Caroline, topped with a lacy crust. It was delicious and boy did it taste good! MMM. I am so lucky to have such wonderful children. Mia and Anthony hosted a lovely birthday celebration for me. Mia baked fresh pizza which was oh so good! Their new apartment is very charming and very cute. Just what Rose will love.
We can't wait to welcome them into the world when they arrive.
Here is a picture of Mia looking over some stuff she got at her baby shower. Anna is looking over these goodies too. Eric and Anna sent a very special gift of a baby bassinet.
When it comes down to it, both of them are very blessed in lots of ways. Won't be much longer.

Todays Blog: (march 21, 2012)
Today has been a little crazy. I waited for Rena to come and bring me to the Y. It was a bit of a wait. Once I got into the water things got a little better - the water wasn't too cold. Anna was our instructor. She is always very good.
At lunch time Rena decided to go to Piccadilly for a meal that wasn't very good. I had stuffed green pepper, 2 vegetables and iced tea. It wasn't very tasty. Thats for sure. When we finished our meal we left for Shelby Farms. A presentation was made by a young lady named Jennifer. She made a good report followed by an outdoor tour of the new childrens outdoor area. It was very thorough and informative to us.
All together the presentation lasted about 2 hours.
